The Nieu-Bethesda Mini Camino is a 60km, 3-day walking journey through the stunning Karoo. Covering around 20km daily, this adventure offers a shorter, yet rewarding experience.
Unlike our 100km Camino, the Mini Camino offers a single base camp, Riad Maroc Nieu-Bethesda Guesthouse, where you’ll return each night. This eliminates the need to pack up and move each day, allowing you to focus on enjoying the walk.
All accommodation and meals are included. Enjoy nature, peaceful gravel roads, and slackpacking in this immersive, manageable walking pilgrimage in groups of six walkers.

This experience is perfect for those seeking a manageable yet rewarding challenge.
Your journey begins in the picturesque village of Nieu-Bethesda, set at the foot of the stunning Sneeuberg mountain range. The majestic landscape invites exploration, while starry skies and the welcoming Karoo locals enhance your stay. At an altitude of 1300m, the area’s desert climate promises hot days and cool, refreshing nights—an ideal combination for longer walks.
On the Nieu-Bethesda Mini Camino, you’ll enjoy the ease of slackpacking—carrying only a day pack with your daily essentials, including water, snacks, and clothing. The peaceful gravel roads are mostly free of traffic, providing a serene, uninterrupted walking experience.
However, it’s important to note that the nearest medical facilities are 60km away, and cell phone reception is limited during the hike, offering a true escape into nature.

All accommodation is included for 4 x nights. Note that accommodation is shared.
